Guy has over 25 years experience as a senior executive across a range of sectors and industries, both overseas and in Australia. He has been an Executive Coach and Mentor with the Stephenson Mansell Group since its inception in 1999, and has gained coaching experience in all aspects of executive coaching including customised leadership and cultural transformation programs.
Guy has worked in start-up, medium-sized and large organisations, some of which have been multinationals with American, Dutch, Finnish, French, English, Swedish or Swiss principals. He has extensive “hands on” knowledge of all aspects of a business organisation, having both breadth and depth in sales and marketing, finance, human resources, manufacturing, engineering, project management and shared services. He has been a CEO/Director of many companies, on the Board of a major public company and Executive Chairman of a group of companies in the electrical protection industry. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering, a B.Comm (Accounting and Marketing) and an MBA. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Coaching Psychology.
Guy has an exceptional understanding of the issues involved in organisational and cultural change and leadership development. He draws on multiple approaches when coaching. These are based on the principles of Positive Psychology and behavioural improvement but also the personal well-being of his clients.
His professional coaching experience includes clients in the FMCG, Financial, Pharmaceutical, Mining, Legal, IT, Construction, Not for Profit, Service, Shipping and various manufacturing and technology-based industries.
In recent years, Guy has led a major cultural change program for a listed New Zealand utility. This company has subsequently been twice awarded the prestigious Hewitt/Forbes Award for leadership. He regularly runs executive leadership effectiveness workshops and coaches individual executives and executive teams. He is accredited in LSI, Hogan, LEA and the CCL 260 degree surveys.
Guy also runs his own consultancy practice which specialises in business transformation including continuous improvement and business turnaround. Recent clients include those in mining, aged health care, and FMCG (food) sectors.
