Dr Karen Morley MAPS GAICD assists organisations to get the best out of themselves and their people through effective leadership. She brings to her executive coaching an impressive 20 year track record in leadership, with extensive senior leadership experience, Australian leadership research, and design and delivery of transformational organisational leadership projects.
Karen has held senior business roles with P&L responsibility and her understanding of the realities that drive good business outcomes underpins her work with leaders. Recent senior leadership roles at Melbourne Business School included head of Mt Eliza Executive Education and Centre for Leadership for Social Impact. During her leadership, a medium-sized organisation significantly exceeded revenue targets and attained its largest ever client in a multimillion dollar global project.
Karen produced the Leadership Index annually for five years and her PhD identified qualities for senior leadership success. She also holds an MBA, and in 2008 participated in Harvard’s masterclass program The Art and Practice of Leadership. Karen was a member of the BOSS True Leaders panel.
Karen is a member of the APS and the AICD. She is a Director of Emerge Women and Children’s Support Network, an emergency services volunteer for Red Cross Australia and an ambassador for Opportunity International Australia.
Karen’s coaching approach is informed by the current performance context and focuses on harnessing leadership capability. Her coaching assists executives to create transformational change by developing greater insight into who they are and discovering the forces that hold back quantum change. She works with them to create greater presence, focus and satisfaction through mindfulness techniques. Her questioning techniques aid the exploration of new possibilities and her deep compassion and empathy provide support through change.
Karen has a considerable track record as a facilitator and psychologist working with senior executives and their teams to increase their leadership effectiveness, in organisations including Aconex, Alfred Health, ANZSOG, Australian Vice Chancellors’ Committee, Aviva, BHP Billiton, BT Finance, Committee for Melbourne, CSL, Dept of Education & Training, Dept of Justice, DIIRD, DISR, GM Holden, Hanover Welfare Services, KPMG, Office of Public Sector Merit & Equity and TAC.
